Matthew Patterson is a multifaceted theatre artist who’s focus on communication and organization can be seen as both a stage manager and lighting designer. He is currently pursuing a BFA in Stage Management at the University of Central Florida and plans to start a career on Cruise Lines and Broadway. Matthew has worked on a variety of different productions including large-scale musicals, plays, events, and festivals, including as an assistant stage manager for Sweeney Todd and the assistant lighting designer and lighting programmer for Rent at Theatre UCF (receiving KCACTF nominations for both), as well as the lighting designer for It’s a Wonderful Life with CFCArts. He has most recently worked on UCF Celebrates the Arts at the Dr. Phillips Center as the production stage manager, where he collaborated with a large team of stage managers to lead each event throughout the festival.
